Art House Calls
Private dialogs about your art, your development as an artist (includes 1 eight week class)
When: Beginning March 25th until May 22nd depending on the selected class.

Location: Critical Dialogs will take place at the Serenbe Institute studio off the courtyard & at participant’s studios

Here is how it works, if you elect to sign up for “Art House Calls” we will work with you individually on your relationship to your work, helping you grow and develop a unique “body of work.” We will design a curriculum and syllabi related to materials and techniques and process to achieve your goals. You will also be able to attend either the eight week “Landscape As Narrative” or “Drawing III,” meeting at the regularly scheduled class time.
The “Art House Calls” portion will run concurrent with any eight-week class, i.e. “Direct Observation Figure” and the upcoming “Plein Aire Spring Landscape Painting”, You will receive four “Art House Calls” within the eight weeks, scheduled on weekends for 1 ½ hours that would take place on a mutually agreed schedule. For “Direct Observation Figure” Michael will meet privately with you twice, Tom once, Michael and Tom together for the last critique. For the upcoming “Plein Aire Spring Landscape Painting” Tom will meet privately with you twice, Michael once, Tom and Michael together for the last critique.
Michael David
Michael David has taught at Princeton University and the Savannah College of Art And Design, and has lectured at The School of Visual Arts in New York, The New York Studio School and The Art Institute of Chicago. His paintings have been exhibited around the world, and are included in the Permanent Public Collections, of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Guggenheim, Houston and Denver Museums among many others. He is the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship, and awards from American Academy of Arts and Letters, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Albee Foundation. www.michaeldavidartist.com
Thomas Swanston
Tom Swanston has taught at the GLCA New York Arts Program and within the University of Georgia system at Kennesaw and Gordon Colleges, and lectured at The Maryland Institute College of Art. Exhibiting regularly in galleries in Atlanta, Boston, Los Angeles, Naples, New Orleans, and Santa Fe, he has had 14 solo and 46 group exhibitions, included in 8 museum exhibitions and published in over 55 industry and lifestyles magazines. He has been awarded two Ford Foundation grants, a Rubenstein Foundation grant, and been a Fellow at the Hambidge Center for Arts and Sciences.
